• Increase self-awareness as it relates to leadership capacities and begin to develop skills to enhance personal leadership with an emphasis on on oral communication:

  • Create and deliver effective oral messages that appropriately address the needs of demands of a particular communication context (e.g. listening, oral presentations, large or small group discussions, small task-oriented groups, interpersonal interactions).

  • Reflect upon their own performance, identifying possible alternative approaches and examining the ethical implications of the approaches or strategies chosen.

• Articulate their own intersectionalities and how those relate to personal leadership.

• Begin to understand how power, privilege and social-location affect leadership expression and positionality.

• Identify aspects of their own leadership journey that demonstrates and integrates classroom learning, leadership experiences, and personal reflections.

• Demonstrate understanding of diverse perspectives and experiences (cultures, traditions, identities, practices and histories) and their importance to effective leadership.

• Demonstrate an awareness of systemic inequalities, power differences, and interdependencies of people in a diverse world.
