Increase self-awareness as it relates to leadership capacities and begin to develop skills to enhance personal leadership with an emphasis on on oral communication:
Create and deliver effective oral messages that appropriately address the needs of demands of a particular communication context (e.g. listening, oral presentations, large or small group discussions, small task-oriented groups, interpersonal interactions).
Reflect upon their own performance, identifying possible alternative approaches and examining the ethical implications of the approaches or strategies chosen.
Articulate their own intersectionalities and how those relate to personal leadership.
Begin to understand how power, privilege and social-location affect leadership expression and positionality.
Identify aspects of their own leadership journey that demonstrates and integrates classroom learning, leadership experiences, and personal reflections.
Demonstrate understanding of diverse perspectives and experiences (cultures, traditions, identities, practices and histories) and their importance to effective leadership.
Demonstrate an awareness of systemic inequalities, power differences, and interdependencies of people in a diverse world.
