How is the FRC Funded?
After three years of student, faculty, and staff advocacy, in Fall of 2023, the Hamline Food Resource became institutionally housed in the Wesley Center for Spirituality, Service, and Social Justice, a department of Student Affairs. Funding comes through the Wesley Center and through Student Fees from the Hamline Undergraduate Student Congress. Learn more about how funds are allocated in HUSC by visiting their website.
The Hamline Food Resource's food is a Food For Thought program generously funded by Good in the 'Hood! Their weekly contribution makes it possible to keep our shelves stocked.
For food funding, the FRC applies to as many grants to help keep the shelves stocked and filled with nutritious food. In 2020, the FRC received the USDA NIFA Community Planning Grant through Campus Compact. As well, MN Hunger Solutions and the Food Group has also given multiple generous grants to help sustain the mission of the FRC and continuing it's fight against Food Insecurity at Hamline University!
We receive monthly funding from Good in the 'Hood, as well as weekly donations from North Country Food Alliance, Twin Cities Food Justice, Hampden Co-Op, Minnesota Central Kitchen, and more!

None of this would be possible without the wonderful support of the Hamline Community and these amazing organizations. By helping us continue our fight against food insecurity, we ensure that food justice and sovereignty is within reach. Thank you for supporting our mission!
