There is a few steps to become a Delta Tau member: Attending Rushes, Pledging, Pledge Education, and Becoming an Active.
To start off, come to as many Delta Tau's Rush events as you can. We normally require a minimum of 2. Delta Tau hosts two rushes per year: A Fall Rush (typically in September, 6 events spanning over 2 weeks) and a Spring Rush (typically in February, 6 events spanning over 2 weeks). This is a time to meet active sisters and to see if Delta Tau is right for you. Everyone is welcome to attend the rushes.
After the rushes, if Delta Tau feels that you are a right fit for this sorority, you will get an invitation to pledge called a bid. Delta Tau will welcome all female and non-identifying men to pledge to Delta Tau. You will undergo a pinning ceremony where you officially become a pledge and start pledge education.
During your pledging process, you will need to attend pledge education. You will need to come once a week (flexible with scheduling) for 8 weeks. During this time you will learn about Delta Tau and the organization.
Once you complete Pledge Education, you will attend an activation ceremony where you then become an active member.
Delta Tau was founded on September 14th, 1981. It started out as the Order of Diana who was a group of little sisters from the recently disbanded Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Then in 1981, Delta Tau Delta was formed however the name was changed to Delta Tau due to threatened legal action from a fraternity with the same name at the University of Minnesota.

Hazing is illegal in Minnesota. All schools in Minnesota are required to adopt a policy on hazing, the policy must apply on and off school property, and impose certain reporting procedures and discipline.
Delta Tau will not tolerate hazing of any kind. Any individual that feels uncomfortable with an activity or feels someone is being hazed is advised to report to Pledge Educator, your Big, or President. If you feel you can not go to them for any reason you can always reach out to DT's faculty adviser or Hamline.
