Meet Mr. Botsford

Hello students! Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. I am very excited to begin the school year with you at Lannon/Woodside Elementary School!  

I have been teaching for the past 26 years.  This will be my 25th year teaching in the Hamilton School District. Before I taught at Lannon Elementary, I was a Health & Wellness teacher at Silver Spring and a fitness education teacher at Woodside Elementary. I received my Bachelor’s degree from UW-Oshkosh, but it wasn’t in teaching, it was in Urban & Regional studies. I also played football there. I then went to UW-Whitewater to get certified in teaching, where I also coached for the Warhawk Football team. A few years later, I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from UW-LaCrosse. Speaking of coaching, I coached football for the past 26 years, the last 20 here at Hamilton. This fall will be my fouth year away from the gridiron. 

I love spending time with my family! There is my wife, Christa (I know kind of funny, Chris & Christa), and kids Ty, Cal and Ramsey. Christa is a physical education teacher at Wauwatosa West High School. Both of my sons graduated from Hamilton High School. My oldest son, Ty, played football at the University of Nebraska-Kearney and graduated in December 2020 with a Business Degree. He is currently the president at WIN Water in Sioux Falls, SD. He is married to McClain. McClain is a 3rd grade teacher in Harrisburg, SD (right next to Sioux Falls, SD). Next in line is my son Cal. He goes to school and plays football at the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota. Then I have my daughter Ramsey. She is recently graduated from Hamilton High School and loves to play basketball and run track. I also need to mention another part of my family, our three pets. We have two cats (Vada and Yoda) and one dog (Remy).
