Today is A-Day
ATTENTION: If you are staying after school for an activity (i.e. practice, tutoring, club, etc.), please submit your answer by 8:30am in Google forms that was emailed to you.
Next week is homecoming!
Dress up days are:
Monday- Hornets are Having Sweet Dreams (PJ Day)
Tuesday- Bakers, Bowls and Batter, but NO Backpacks (Anything but a Backpack Day)
Wednesday- Great Hamilton Color War (Wear your Class HOCO T-shirts or the color)
Thursday- A Baker's Dozen of Adam Sandler's Movies (Dress like Adam OR any of his characters)
Friday- Put the [BLUE AND GOLD] Icing on the Cake!
The dance is Friday after the game until 11:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Permission forms for out of town dates are in the tray by the office.
If you want to be in the parade, see Ms. Wattenbarger, ASAP!
Coronation practice for all royalty and cheer escorts and emcee on Monday, October 7th - First study hall!
Voting for Homecoming King and Queen will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 8th! Remember to vote!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Seniors, we will be getting pizza for lunch at the float site on Friday, October 11. Please bring $1 per slice (or $7 for a whole pizza) to Mrs. Kanoy by Wednesday, Oct. 9.
"Girls on the Gridiron Flag football game and Iron Man volleyball will be this upcoming Sunday, October 6th. Girls game starts at 5pm at the football field. Boys game will be at 7pm in the new gym. If interested in signing up, see Mr. Kraber."
If you are interested in playing Girls Basketball this year please plan to attend a meeting on Thursday, October 3rd, at 11:00am in Ms. Huitt's classroom.
Those wanting to sign up for the Big Buck contest, please contact Tyler Thompson.
The Hamilton Blood Drive will be on Wednesday, October 9th from 2pm to 6pm at the Hamilton Methodist Church. Appointments are perferred and can be made at savealifenow.org/group. You must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not have donated within the last 56 days.
Seniors!!! There are two upcoming opportunities for you! Oct 8th is a College Fair at NCMC in Trenton. There will be a variety of colleges/ universities there. We will leave at 8 a.m. and return around 11:30 a.m. Wattenbarger will be coming to your LA classes soon to sign you up!
Picture re-take day will be October 16th.
All juniors will be taking the ASVAB on October 24th at 8 a.m. If you do not take it this year, you will need to take it next year! Seniors! You may re-take it if you want a better score, but if you were absent last year, you must take it on this date.
The All District Choir rehearsal day and concert will be October 26th at Platte Co HS. Concert is open to the public at 5pm.
Seniors - Oct 28th is Build My Future event in Bethany for students interested in the Construction/ Vocational industry. We will leave at 8 a.m. and return at 3 p.m. Ms. Wattenbarger will be coming to your LA classes soon to sign you up!
PHS Blood Drive will be on Tuesday, November 12th in the HS Commons from 1pm to 5pm.
The rep from State Tech will be here on Tuesday, November 12th at 10:30am to visit with any seniors interested in attending. If you're interested in Heavy Equipment or Electrical Distribution (lineman) programs, their priority deadlines are December 5th!
The National NHS scholarship application is available through the following link: https://www.nationalhonorsociety.org/advisers/the-nhs-scholarship/ If you have any questions or need assistance completing the application, please see Mrs. Kanoy. It is a multi-step application. Don't wait until the last minute. Deadline is November 26, 2024.
Any Seniors who would like to leave a quote in the Yearbook may pick up a form in the office. Forms are due to Ms. Pyrtle by December 13th.

SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITY!
The Caldwell County Cares Coalition is having a giveaway event at the Hamilton Hotel on October 5th. They are needing people to help set up on Friday the 4th to unload boxes and set up at the hotel. On the 5th they are needing volunteers to clean up after the event is over at 1:00. If anyone is interested please let Mrs. Wilkerson know!
The Methodist Church is hosting their Fall Festival on October 27 from 2pm to 4pm or later. They are looking for student volunteers to help out running kiddy games, face painting, etc. If you are interested in helping out please let Ms. Schweder in the office know.

November 6th - The NWMSU rep will be here from 10:30-11:30 to meet with Juniors and Seniors.

If you need a locker and have not been assigned one, please see the office.
NO cell phones out unless you have permission from your teacher.
NO Blankets.
Hats/Hoods are not allowed to be worn during school hours.
NO outside food deliveries.
If you leave during the day you must have a written excuse to return (i.e. Doctor's note, Drivers license test, court appearances, etc.)
ATTENTION: DO NOT open the outside doors for people trying to get inside the building. This is for your safety. We need to ensure the safety of the school.
ATTENTION: There should be NO students in the weight room or gym outside of school hours unless there is a staff member present to supervise.
