Ila: My favorite part was probably going downstairs in Neville Wisdom’s shop and seeing how he makes clothes. All the different colors of thread and fabric were really inspiring. I also thought his fabric cutter was pretty incredible. One thing that really made me look in a new perspective was how kids whose parents or families might not be documented have the mentality that they could possibly be separated at any time.
Margaret: My favorite part of the media project is how we get to learn about immigration which is currently a very debated topic. I was very surprised to see the amount of immigrants that I didn't even know were actually our neighbors.

Roman: My favorite part of the media project was going out into New Haven to interview people. It was fascinating to listen to to all the different points of views of immigrants and legal professionals. The immigrant’s struggle in the U.S. was very interesting to listen to. I was surprised when I learned how forceful ICE is. I did not know ICE would put immigrants in prison before deporting them and stay so close to the law. ICE does not let anything go by them and hunts down undocumented immigrants.

Eli: My favorite part of the project was the freedom we got. It was nice to have the freedom of what you wanted to write as long as it was on the topic of immigration. I didn’t realize how many cultures were in New Haven. Like, I knew that there were different cultures, but not this many!
Evan: My favorite part of the media project was going on the field trip on Wednesday. I enjoyed this because I got to go ask people on the Green questions about immigration. I liked seeing the different perspectives on immigration that all the people shared. One thing that surprised me was the fact that so many people believed that the immigration laws were unfair. Usually, most people agree with the laws of the country, and seeing that so many people disagree shocked me.
Pearson: My favorite part of this project was going to the New Haven Green. This is my favorite part of the project because we got to interact with people and got to hear their opinions. What surprised we during this project were the answers of the people we interviewed. I was surprised to hear that some people don’t support immigration and that they believe undocumented immigrants should be able to become legal.
