Fun memories- taking the boys to Philmont in 2016 was probably the best memory, also Alaska in 2018 was great. Summer camp was always so much fun, lots of fun during the day for the boys, but then sitting around the fire with the men after dark- just sharing stories and laughing about old times. The difficulties of leadership
Became apparent. Is we got more into the digital age, the boys all wanted to take their phones, camping and just wanted to sit around and play on their phones, we had to ban the phones at meetings, and it became increasingly difficult to get the boys done to want to go camping. Our society is becoming too soft, and the parents didn't help. At this point I am not involved in scouting anymore. I did it all my life, but I retired when my son Cordell got his eagle, i've been a scout since I was 7 years old and I am an Eagle also
Also probably the the thing that I enjoyed most was teaching the boys how to do the skills, and then going camping and them using it, that was rewarding
