Dear Pre-K Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year at Hamburg School! We are so excited to have your preschooler join us this year. We are looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences.
The preschool years are such an important time in a child’s development. During this stage, children build foundational academic skills, develop social connections, and begin to foster a lifelong love of learning. We are committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and supportive environment where every child can thrive.
We will be hosting a Preschool Open House on Monday, August 31st from 1:30–2:30 PM. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to meet the preschool teachers, explore the classroom, and become familiar with the school environment. We hope you are able to attend!
If you have not already completed the “All About Me” page included in your registration packet, please bring it with you to Orientation Day. This helps us get to know your child better and supports a smooth transition into the classroom.
To help ensure a smooth and successful year, we value open and consistent communication between school and home. We encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns, or updates throughout the year. We will be using ClassDojo as our primary method of communication. More information on how to join will be shared soon. ClassDojo will be used to share important updates, classroom highlights, and messages.
To help your child be prepared for school, please ensure they have the following supplies:
• School-sized backpack (Please no toddler-sized bags, as they do not fit folders and supplies)
• Crib-sized sheet and one small child-sized blanket
• Lunch box with two healthy snacks daily
• A full change of clothing (underwear, pants, socks, sneakers, and shirt)
• Refillable water bottle (for daily use)
• 1 folder
• Diapers and wipes (if your child is not yet potty trained)
Please also begin working with your child on proper bathroom etiquette, as they will be using the classroom bathroom independently.
If your child will be bringing lunch from home, please note that we are a peanut-free classroom. Additionally, we do not have the ability to heat or refrigerate lunches, so please plan accordingly.
We are truly looking forward to an exciting and meaningful year with your child. Thank you for your support and partnership this school year!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Menendez, Mrs. Goens & Mrs. Miller
