February 19 from 5:00 to 6:30pm
What is a student led conference?
Student-led conferences empower students to take an active role in sharing their learning progress with parents. During these conferences, students present work samples, discuss goals, and reflect on their achievements and areas of growth. This process fosters responsibility, communication skills, and self-awareness, while giving parents valuable insight into their child’s academic and personal development. Teachers will be present to provide guidance and support to their students, but it is not a time they will be available for individual parent conferences as they will be busy supporting all student presentations as they share their work and progress with you!
Please see your classroom newsletter and sign up for a time with your child’s teacher. We encourage you to attend to see the great stuff that your student has been working on.

Family Survey Announcement
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Wauka Mountain Academy will take the new Georgia School Climate Survey this year. Each parent or guardian is invited to take the family version to answer questions about the current school or schools you have a child or children attending. If two or more children attend the same school, please only complete one survey for that school.
The survey measures what you think about how the school engages with families. Answers are not linked to names in any way. When typing answers, please do not give names or information that you don’t want to share with this school. Data will be shared with school leaders to help improve the school and will be published on the GaDOE website.

Family Notification of Student Survey
Dear Parent or Guardian,
We are writing to inform you about a new student survey that will be conducted at your child’s school. The survey, which will be open from February through March, includes 27 questions. It should take students approximately 10 minutes to complete, and it asks about the quality of teaching and learning, the school environment, support for students, and how commonly students in the school face challenges (such as being bullied). Names cannot be tied to survey answers in any way, and students can skip any question. The data will help leaders improve the school.
The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232(c)(1)(A) gives you the right to review a copy of the student survey questions. You may review the survey questions at THIS LINK. Additionally, you may request that the school provide a copy of the survey questions for your review.
The PPRA also gives you the right to opt your child out of participating in the survey. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please contact laura.tucker@hallco.org by February 13, 2026.

With the Traversa My Ride K12 mobile app, parents and students can conveniently access their bus stop location, route, and pick-up time. One parent or guardian sets up the original account and has the ability to share it with others, making the process even more convenient.

Beginning on 9/2 we are excited to be able to welcome family members to eat lunch with their student on select days. We ask that the following guidelines are observed:
Each student will be limited to 2 guests. Each guest must have ID, and at least 1 guest must be listed in the student's Infinite Campus profile as an approved contact (ie; household member or other approved contact); you may check this information via parent portal.
Guests must check in at the front office and wait to meet their student there.
Please send a note with your student that day to give to their teacher.
Eating areas will be outside, and subject to weather. Guests will not be allowed to eat in the cafeteria, though they may go through the line and get a tray.
Due to safety and available space, we will limit the number of overall students that may have guests to 3 or 4 per grade level per day. Guests must sign in using THIS LINK . If a date is not available, it is because all of the available slots have been taken at that time.
Due to the limited availability of slots to join your students at lunch, please do not sign up for multiple or consecutive dates at one time. This will allow more people to enjoy this time with their students.
Your student will need to come back to the front office after lunch, and we will return them to class. Guests will not be able to walk their student back to class.
All students must be dropped off in the car rider line or ride the bus to school
All students not in the building by 7:45 will be marked tardy
The latest a student can be checked out is 1:45pm
Unless it is an emergency, we cannot make changes to a student's transportation after 1pm

Unless you have received prior approval from Wauka Mountain administration, please do not drop off your student in the bus lane or in front of the school.
Car riders will enter campus from HWY 52 to Dinnan Drive. If traffic is backed up, please do not make a left onto campus. Rather, go to the next driveway at the transfer center and make a U-turn (Map #1). Then, follow the road around the field to the drop off area (Yellow highlight in the picture Map #2).
After 7:45, or when checking a tardy student in, please use the front office entrance.
*** Any student that is not in the building, or is dropped off anywhere other than the car rider line (without prior administrative approval) will be marked Tardy.

Note for Students who eat Breakfast at school
Please have your student to school on time so they can eat and be ready for instruction.
Students must be dropped off in the car rider line before 7:45.

Lunch & Snack Note - Please do not send your students with carbonated sodas for snack or in their lunchboxes. Sugary or caffeinated beverages are strongly discouraged
