Daylight Saving Time Reminder
Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 a.m. Please remember to set your clocks forward one hour.
Safety First:
Daylight Saving Time is also a great reminder to check important home safety devices. Ensure that smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are working properly. If your alarms use replaceable batteries, now is a good time to change them. If they have long-life batteries, check that they are still within their usable lifespan.
For more information on smoke alarms and a fire drill mini-lesson, see the link below. When practicing home fire drills, remember to take extra precautions for young children, older adults, and individuals with special needs. Additional guidance is available at this link.
Health Tip:
Changes in sleep schedules related to Daylight Saving Time can sometimes affect sleep, concentration, and overall well-being. For tips and information on managing common health effects after the time change, please see the resource linked here.
Save the date:
Field Day is Friday, April 3rd!
More information coming soon.
Please be prepared to show your photo ID to attend Field Day.
Shamrock Bags will be sold each morning in the school store.
Hidden inside some of the bags are coupons for a Free Ice Cream during lunch.
Bags will be sold until we run out.
ESPLOST 2026
HCSD will not influence how one might vote, but it is our effort to inform the community about how the district has benefited from ESPLOST and what is planned for the future should the referendum be approved.
If passed, ESPLOST VII would not be a new tax, simply an extension of an initiative that has served the district well since 1997.
30 to 40 percent of ESPLOST collections come from individuals who live outside of Hall County.
The funding from ESPLOST helps HCSD maintain current facilities and instructional programs, as well as address growth. Without it, the millage rate could be impacted.
