Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) courses are college-level courses offered in high school.
At the end of each course, students take AP Exams—standardized exams that measure how well students have mastered college-level course work. Hall County pays for students to take exams. In 2025 FBHS gave 638 exams. In 2025 FBHS had a 80% overall pass rate which was the highest in Hall County and we were above the State and National Averages. FBHS also offers more AP courses than any other school in the county with 26. Of the 638 tested students/ 121 FBHS students earned AP Scholars designation in the 2025 testing period.
Students who do well on AP Exams can earn college credit and/or placement into advanced courses/programs in college. Many colleges and universities have high school AP coursework expectations and requirements. Please research schools you are interested in for their admission criteria. Especially research out-of-state schools, private schools and larger universities. You can combine DE and AP course loads.
