About Me

My name is Hazel Vargas, and I am excited to be your child’s first grade teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. I am an international teacher from the Philippines with over 15 years of experience in elementary education. I hold a Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) with a concentration in Mathematics, and I am currently teaching first grade at Scotland Neck Elementary Leadership Academy in North Carolina. My goal is to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom where students can build strong academic foundations, develop confidence, and discover the joy of learning.

In addition to being a teacher, I am also a proud mother of three, which allows me to bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to the classroom. I value open communication and strong partnerships with families, and I believe that when home and school work together, students can achieve their fullest potential. I look forward to a wonderful year of growth, learning, and success in first grade!
