Welcome to kindergarten! I am so excited to meet and work with you this year! I  would like to welcome you to an exciting new school year! As we embark on this new school year we would like to introduce you and  your child to myself as well as share some of our classroom rules and policies. Please take the time to review this welcome packet as it contains important classroom rules and policies that you will need to be aware of. 

My name is Ms. Thigpen and I am the kindergarten instructional assistant. I will be assisting with instruction both whole and small groups to keep our students growing academically and socially. I have been in education for 11 years, in which 9 of those years I was a classroom teacher. To break that down even further, I was a kindergarten teacher for 6 of those 9 years. I grew up in Nashville (Nash County). I went to East Carolina University and received my bachelor's degree in elementary education. 

I believe that education is a life-long process that continues throughout life. I am excited to have the opportunity to co-teach your child the foundational skills that they will need to be successful in school and life. I look forward to seeing all the academic growth your child will make this school year.
