I am a proud product of Halifax County Schools! I attended Elizabeth City State University where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology. I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2012 and successfully renewed my certification with Maintenance of Certification in 2021. Over the course of my career, I have been honored to be named Teacher of the Year for the 2007–2008, 2012–2013, 2016–2017, and 2024–2025 school years.
I am entering my twenty-third year of teaching, and I still consider it a privilege to guide, inspire, and challenge students each day. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive classroom where every child feels valued, capable, and motivated to reach their fullest potential. I believe in fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning through engaging and meaningful experiences.
Teaching is more than a career to me—it is a calling. I am committed to building strong partnerships with families, because together, we can help children achieve both academic success and personal growth.
