Welcome to Our Lively Learning Community! đ
Hello! Welcome to 2nd Grade. Iâm Marcelina B. Santos, thrilled to be your childâs 2nd-grade teacher this year. What brings me to this remarkable role?
With a Bachelorâs degree in Elementary Education and more than 23 purposeful years in the classroom, Iâve nurtured young learners through diverse educational landscapes in the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in dedication and adaptabilityâI strive to meet each child where they are, inviting them into a world of discovery, creativity, and joyful learning.
In my classroom, children experience learning through play, inquiry, and meaningful connections. I design lessons that nurture critical thinking, collaboration, and a love for learningâhelping students not just absorb facts, but to become curious thinkers and caring friends.
Above all, I believe teaching is a callingâan opportunity to shape not just academic growth, but character. Building strong partnerships with parents and colleagues is central to my approach; together, we create a supportive, thriving community that lifts every child.
In Harmony with Halifax County Schoolsâ Mission & Vision
Iâm proud to have joined Halifax County Schoolsâa district âCharting a New Course to Student Achievementâ with a deep commitment to whole-child education. According to the districtâs mission, we work to âcreate a supportive and positive learning environment to address the needs of the whole-student in partnership with educators, staff, parents and communities.â
Likewise, the districtâs vision anticipates empowering students to grow as âsuccessful global residents.â
Hereâs how my teaching aligns with these guiding principles:
Whole-Student Focus: Every child brings strengths, interests, and challengesâand I craft learning experiences that cultivate their academic, social, and emotional well-being.
Collaborative Roots: I believe in true partnershipsâbetween home, school, and communityâto nurture each learner. By communicating openly and valuing input from parents and colleagues, we co-create an uplifting classroom culture.
Global Readiness: With experience teaching across continents, I bring an outward-looking perspectiveâpreparing students to engage thoughtfully and empathetically with a broader world.
Together, Letâs Begin a Year of Growth
Iâm deeply honored to serve your child within Scotland Neck Elementary Leadership Academyâs mission to educate, enlighten, and empower students by delivering effective instruction. Guided by our schoolâs vision, we strive to nurture learners who are confident, capable, and prepared to succeed in a changing world.
With your trust and collaboration, weâll guide each young learner toward confidence, curiosity, and a future filled with possibilities.
Thank you for letting me be part of your childâs educational journey. Letâs make this year an inspiring adventureâtogether! đ
