Hello! My name is Davona Mitchell, and I am thrilled to be part of your educational journey this school year. I currently serve as an Inclusion Teacher in the area of English Language Arts in grades 6-8, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be doing work that I truly love.

I bring with me 22 years of teaching experience, and over the course of my career, I have had the pleasure of working with diverse groups of students across various grade levels and learning needs. Each year has taught me something new, and my passion for education continues to grow.

Teaching is not just my profession—it’s my calling. I am deeply committed to supporting and nurturing every student I work with. I believe that all students can succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and opportunities to shine. My classroom is a safe, inclusive space where students are respected, challenged, and celebrated for who they are.

What drives me each day is my genuine love for helping students grow—not just academically, but also emotionally and socially. I strive to build strong relationships with my students and to be a consistent, caring presence in their lives.

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy activities that help me stay inspired and recharged—whether that's reading, spending time with family, shopping, cooking, traveling or exploring new ideas to bring back to my students.
