Read for at least 20 minutes each day.

Keep a summer journal.

Research a historic place in North Carolina.
Talk with a family member about a family tradition.
Explore maps of North Carolina and the United States.
Learn about important people in North Carolina history.
Play outdoors for at least 30 minutes each day.
Ride a bike, walk, or swim.
Practice a sport or recreational activity.
Participate in family games that encourage movement.
