Welcome to the DiscordBridge plugin for Unreal Engine! This guide will help you set up your Discord Developer account, create a new application, and integrate it with Unreal Engine using our plugin.
- Visit the Discord Developer Portal.
- Log in with your existing Discord account or create one if you haven’t already.
- Once logged in, click on "New Application".
- Give your application a name and click "Create".
- After creating your application, you will be taken to the application’s settings page.
- Locate the "Client ID" on the main page — you will need this ID later.
- Navigate to the Rich Presence section to configure images and presence information.
- Add assets like images (small and large) that will show up in the Discord Rich Presence.
- Install the DiscordBridge plugin from the Unreal Engine Marketplace.
- Enable the plugin by going to Edit > Plugins in Unreal Engine and searching for "DiscordBridge". Click Enable.
- Go to Project Settings in Unreal Engine.
- Scroll down to DiscordBridge Settings.
- Enter the Client ID you obtained from the Discord Developer Portal.
- The DiscordBridge plugin automatically handles the connection to Discord.
- You can use the rich presence features directly from your project to display game state and activity.
- Run your Unreal Engine project.
- Ensure you have Discord open on your computer.
- In Discord, navigate to your profile.
- You should see your application’s Rich Presence with the configured details.
- Rich Presence Not Showing: Make sure the Client ID is correctly entered in the plugin settings.
- Discord Not Connecting: Ensure Discord is running on the same machine and your application is set to public in the Discord Developer Portal.
