Digital Citizenship

What is Digital Citizenship?

Common Sense Media says:

"Navigating cyberbullying, privacy, safety, and other digital dilemmas are a real challenge for schools. But technology also provides incredible opportunities for students to learn, connect, create, and collaborate in ways never before imagined."

The Halcyon community supports the safe and responsible use of technology through Common Sense Education's K-12 Digital Citizenship Curriculum. Students can build skills around critical thinking, ethical discussion, and decision making.

The Common Sense Media curriculum provides resources for students, parents, teachers and school leaders.

At Halcyon, Digital Citizenship will be taking students through a comprehensive curriculum, designed to empower students to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly in our digital world. We will be shaping it based on a variety of expert sources from Common Sense Media, ISTE and internal knowledge.

At Halcyon, we carefully weave digital citizenship into continual discussion within PSHEE and beyond. Citizenship is interwoven into the fabric of the school.
