Tips from John Hopkins on how to write your essay - video
The essay should be about the student - allowing the admissions officer to understand their personal qualities, areas of interest and how they engage with the world around them. Think about your experiences and how they have helped you grow and develop during your time in high school.
Think about how you would describe yourself, how others see you and what you care about (e.g. social activism, justice etc.) and what your values are.
For each of these descriptors - think about ECAs you participate in/ experience(s) you have had that resonate with each of them.
From the list - pick the story you want to tell the most - the one that would really offer an insight into who you are
*This also doubles as a great supplement essay pre-task*
LORs are requested on Unifrog, choosing the teacher and copying in your responses to the questions in the linked document on the left. You should choose your 2-3 teacher from the following list:
A subject you are excelling in - related to the major you intend to study
Teachers who know you best and have seen you grow and develop as a student and member of this community
Each teacher requires a new set of responses to those questions.
