Looking for some fantastic summer learning?


As an extension to the annual Challenge for All Summits, The High Ability | Gifted & Talented Learners Collaborative is pleased to now be able to offer a series of three-week, summer intensive online courses. Courses feature various starting points, making them suitable for participants new to the field of giftedness, CFA Summit past participants, and for other educators and school leaders who are keen to extend and deepen their learning. Graduate credits from SUNY (State University of New York, Buffalo) and professional development hours for educators are available, following successful course completion.

February 2019: Ability Grouping


Fear of returning to the oft-criticized academic tracking of students has led progressive educators to be reticent to group highly able/gifted students by ability. However, recent research supports the effectiveness of ability grouping for the highest performers and, concomitantly, the detriments of the exclusive use of heterogeneous grouping.
