Location and Times: All enrichment classes will be hosted at Tatem Elementary, 1 Glover Ave. Central/Middle, 3 Lincoln Ave., and run M-TH from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All instructors are HSD/NJDOE certified teachers/faculty.

Course Title: Adventures in Art! (Low Seat Warning)
Instructors: Kristin Kimmell and Caroline Brown
Target Audience: Grades K-2 (Session A, Kimmell) - Session B will have 1 section of K-2 (Brown) and 1 of 3-5 (Kimmell)
Description: Join Ms. Kimmell and Ms. Brown for fun 2D and 3D art adventures, including drawing, painting, mask-making, jewelry design, and working with clay. We will work indoors and outdoors, with time for games and yoga, too!
Course Title: Around the World with Ms. Parady!

Target Audience: Grades K-2, Session A or B
Description: We are excited to announce our summer enrichment course, "Around the World with Ms. Parady." In this class, students will embark on a daily adventure, exploring a new country each day and learning about its unique culture. Throughout the course, we will engage in various activities, such as creating art projects, making traditional foods, listening to music, and reading books from different countries. Each day promises to be filled with fun and learning!
Course Title: Musical Odyssey

Description: A dynamic summer program crafted to ignite the musical passions of aspiring young musicians in grades 3-5! The program offers an exhilarating journey through the world of music, where students embark on a vibrant exploration of voice and instruments.
Through engaging and interactive sessions, students will have the opportunity to:
Dive into a world of musical diversity with xylophones and glockenspiels of varying sizes and types. From the deep resonance of larger instruments to the sparkling brilliance of smaller ones, each instrument brings its unique character to the ensemble.
Step into the enchanting realm of wind instruments as we journey through the captivating world of soprano recorders! In this immersive session, students will unlock their musical potential through expert guidance and hands-on practice, honing their skills in reading music and playing melodies with grace and precision.
Introduction to Ukuleles. Students will learn the basics of ukulele anatomy, tuning, strumming, and basic chords. Get ready to strum, sing, and make beautiful music on the ukulele!
Explore Drumming: Students will feel the rhythm come alive as they delve into the captivating world of drumming, unleashing their creativity and expressing themselves through dynamic rhythms.
Discover the Voice: Students will explore the power and beauty of the voice through singing and vocal techniques, developing confidence and expression through the art of singing.

Description: Adventures in Math! Join Mrs. McGroarty for some exciting math enrichment activities! We'll use geometry, art, measurement, logic, and engineering to use math skills and see where they take us. We'll work both indoors and outdoors and base some of our work on popular picture books and STEAM activities. Have you ever created a tessellation? Can you count using numbers from Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics? Do you like drawing and graphing? Do you like building and solving puzzles? Join us! Let's have a math adventure!

Description: Get ready to move, play, and have fun! In 'Movement!', students will explore a variety of sports, exciting games, and teamwork activities designed to keep them active and engaged during the summer. From running, jumping, and learning new sports skills to stretching and relaxing with yoga, this course is perfect for kids who love to move and try new things. Through interactive play and group challenges, students will build confidence, improve coordination, and develop teamwork skills—all while making new friends and having a blast. Description: Welcome to The Magic of Disney, an exciting enrichment course where we explore the history, movies, theme parks, and beloved characters of Disney! We’ll journey through Walt Disney’s incredible story, from his first animation studio to the creation of Disneyland and beyond. Students will discover the magic behind classic films like Snow White, The Lion King, and Frozen, learning about animation, storytelling, and iconic Disney characters. We’ll also take a virtual trip through Disney theme parks, exploring their attractions, hidden secrets, and Imagineering innovations. Get ready for fun activities, creative projects, and a magical adventure into the world of Disney!
Course Title: Creative Writing

Description: In this course, we will engage in activities that promote imaginative thinking and enhance our writing skills. We will create original works such as poems, comic strips, and short stories. We’ll build on each other's ideas and generate stories in an environment encouraging creativity and individuality. From exploring writing samples to developing our storylines, the possibilities are endless in creative writing! Course Title: Mission: Possible - Unlocking Your Superpowers for Success!
Instructor: Sarah Carangelo
Target Audience: Grades 5-8, Session A or B
Description: The Mission: Possible workshop will provide tips, strategies, and hacks to middle school students looking to learn more about self-management in and out of the classroom. Each day, we will discuss topics designed to increase mental health fitness and practical executive function skills ready to be applied in any area of life. At the end of the two-week session, students will have a better understanding of how to manage stress, cope with challenges and conflict, maintain positive relationships, navigate the middle school social scene, advocate for themselves, set and achieve goals, self-monitor and time manage, name and tame emotions, and effectively plan and organize.
Course Title: From Page to Screen - The Art of Screenwriting! (Low Seat Warning)
