Course Title: Lego Robotics

Course Description: Students will be engaged in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts and problem-solving. Students will unlock their creativity through storytelling, collaborating with peers, practicing coding and computational skills, understanding sequences, loops, cause and effect, testing, debugging, and experimenting.
Course Title: The Queen of Songwriting: Taylor Swift

Description: You know her, you love her, but why? This course is a deep dive into the genius of Taylor Swift. We will explore her music in true Swiftie fashion by dissecting her various “eras.” Each era has unique song styles, lyrical choices, music videos, Easter eggs, and more. Students in this course will be able to glean from Taylor Swift’s skills and have opportunities to experiment and explore their own songwriting abilities. Students will also dive into the deeper meaning of her lyrics and participate in Taylor Swift-related crafts and activities. Swift’s lyrics include love, loss, insecurities, bullying, family, isolation, fame, hatred, starting over, and growing up. The songs included in this course will only include "radio-friendly" versions, and the selections for Sessions A and B will bear in mind the age range of the students.

Description: In this course, we will engage in activities that promote imaginative thinking and enhance our writing skills. We will create original works such as poems, comic strips, and short stories. We’ll build on each other's ideas and generate stories in an environment that encourages creativity and individuality. From exploring writing samples to developing our storylines, the possibilities are endless in creative writing! Course Title: From Book to Movie: Screenwriting!

Description: Do you love books and movies? Have you ever wondered how your favorite stories went from the pages of a book to the big screen? What do you think about writing movie scenes? Join us this summer for a fun, two-week course where students will explore some of the most popular book-to-movie adaptations such as Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and The Hunger Games. During this course, we'll watch movie clips and read book excerpts to compare and contrast how story elements were shown on screen versus paper. Students will also discuss why some changes are necessary when adapting a book to a movie. Then, it'll be the students' turn to be screenwriters! Students will learn the basics of screenwriting and practice writing their scenes based on a book they choose. Maybe one day, your scene will be turned into a movie! This course is perfect for kids who love to read and analyze literature, watch movies, and be creative.
Course Title: From Jaws to Barbie: Five Decades of Summer Blockbusters!

Description: A cinema studies class focusing on Summer Blockbusters/Summer Disasters, covering summer-released films from the last 50 years – brilliant and awful – and the cultural eras they represent. The rise of the summer blockbuster began with the release of JAWS back in 1975 – which proved to studios just how much money could be made by catering to summer audiences. Since then, the annual release of big-budget flicks has become a summer ritual and the financial lifeblood of Hollywood studios – or their downfall. We’ll explore the evolution of the summer blockbuster over the last five decades, including some of the biggest hits and worst bombs such as Jaws, The Empire Strikes Back, Ghostbusters, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Toy Story 3, Shrek, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Battlefield Earth, Jaws the Revenge, Fantastic Four, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, and The Dark Knight.

Description: Musical Mayhem K-2 interactive music program is a dynamic and engaging music education experience designed specifically for kindergarten through second-grade children. The program aims to introduce young learners to the fundamentals of music in a fun and interactive way, fostering their creativity, expression, and love for music.
Creative Exploration: Children will be encouraged to explore various musical elements such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and dynamics through interactive activities, games, and exercises.
Hands-On Learning: The program's hands-on approach allows students to experiment with musical instruments and sound-making tools suitable for their age group. These could include simple percussion instruments like drums, shakers, xylophones, and boomwhackers.
Movement and Dance: Movement is incorporated into the program to help children develop a sense of rhythm and musical expression. The lessons integrate fun and energetic dance activities to keep children engaged and reinforce musical concepts.
