Meet the Teacher

Hi Kindergarten families! 

My name is Mrs. Powell. This is my first year teaching Kindergarten and my second year in the Haddonfield School District. Last year, I taught in our PLC (Primary Learning Center) program. I graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education (P-3) and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities Endorsement. I hold additional New Jersey certifications to teach 4th-6th grade.  Prior to earning my teaching certifications, I have experience as a paraprofessional spanning school districts, behavior therapy clinics, and early childhood learning centers. I’ve taught and supported children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in various educational environments, with a focus on inclusion and special education.  

When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling with my husband and spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading, writing, cleaning, baking, fishing, and spending time in nature.  I got married at the end of last school year at Jay Peak, Vermont, one of my husband and I's favorite places to travel to!
