Meet the Teacher

Hi Elizabeth Haddon Families!

My name is Mrs. Powell. This is my third year teaching in Haddonfield School District. My first year at Haddonfield I taught in our PLC (Primary Learning Center) program at Elizabeth Haddon and last year I taught Preschool at Central School. I am excited to be back teaching at Elizabeth Haddon this school year!

I graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education (P-3) and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities Endorsement. I hold additional New Jersey certifications to teach 4th-6th grade.  Prior to earning my teaching certifications, I have experience as a paraprofessional spanning school districts, behavior therapy clinics, and early childhood learning centers. I’ve taught and supported children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in various educational environments, with a focus on inclusion and special education.  

Every child possesses a unique learning style, and it is my responsibility as a special education teacher to meet each student where they are. By inspiring self-belief and providing targeted support, my goal is to empower learners to overcome challenges and achieve their personal and academic goals. 

When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling with my husband and spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading, writing, cleaning, watching Banana Ball, and spending time in nature.
