Program Information: Course Objective: To allow students to pursue local historical topics and engage in public history through research and work. Topics might include memorials throughout town, local anniversaries of events, people, and architecture, debunking myths, and other student-driven research projects. Students would learn to read and incorporate different primary sources into a historical narrative, poster, or conference presentation.

Program Information: This course will allow students to improve their writing skills by exploring a variety of writing styles, including (but not limited to) short stories (both fiction and non-fiction), plays, and poetry. By the end of the semester, each student will have created a portfolio showcasing their best writing from the course.
