Who is Mrs. Hessert?
Hello parents and students! This year will be my sixteenth year as a part of the Central School family, but my first year working in early reading intervention. In the past, I had always been a third grade classroom teacher. Every year I am so excited to work with enthusiastic, accomplished, and inspiring students and collaborate with dedicated and innovative teachers.
I have always loved to learn and still push myself to learn new things, even when it's hard or I feel silly. A couple of years ago I even tried learning to surf with my oldest two sons! For those surfers in our school, I applaud you. That is not is easy as it looks! I am confident that this year we will enjoy learning and growing in all kinds of ways together! Likewise, I've also always loved to read so I am especially excited to work in a role with reading as its focus. I spend a good part of my free time reading and listening to books and hope to inspire that love of reading in all of our Central School Cheetahs.
My husband, Tom, and I have four sons, Tommy, Henry, Patrick, and Jack. Our sons are also students at here at Central School! We love to spend time biking and exploring outside, reading stories, playing sports, watching movies on family movie night, baking, experimenting, and having epic dance parties in our kitchen. Spending time with family is very important to us, and we're lucky to see our grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins regularly - usually for Friday night homemade pizza! I also love to travel, run or ride my bike, and spend time with friends.
