I feel both privileged and honored to be a member of the Elizabeth Haddon School Community. I look forward to working with you and your child. Within our learning community, I promise to provide your child with a safe, loving, and fun-filled learning environment.
Along with my husband, I am a mom of seven wonderful children ~ 5 girls and 2 boys. We also have 13 beautiful grandchildren ~ Francesca, John , Luke, Matthew, Penelope, Benjamin, Rylee , Rocco , Lucy , Avery, Roman, Valerie, and Trea. We are expecting grandbaby number 14 in October. So, it goes without saying that I have a passion for children. I love watching them grow, develop, and strive to reach their goals. As a parent, I understand the importance of children receiving a quality learning experience, one in which they can feel accepted, valued, and empowered to learn to the best of their ability.
As an educator, this is my fourteenth year teaching at Elizabeth Haddon. In December 2011, I graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education, as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Writing Arts. During the fall of 2011, I completed my student teaching experience in a third grade inclusive classroom at Erial Elementary School. While fulfilling my student teaching experience, I had the opportunity to differentiate my lessons utilizing technology and small group instruction.
Once I obtained my degree, I worked the spring of 2012 as a long-term first grade substitute teacher at St. Rose of Lima. During this time, I facilitated a fun-filled, deep rooted educational learning experience for my students. I was delighted to be a part of the first graders' social and academic growth.
Prior to receiving my Rowan Degrees, I worked for six years as an Instructional Assistant for the Camden County Educational Service Commission. I assisted students with Individual Education Plans by helping them achieve their academic and social goals. My position as an Instructional Assistant was very rewarding and motivating to me. I was afforded the opportunity to provide multi-modal lessons to reach all my learners’ needs. The students’ progress validated my desire to become a certified teacher, a goal which I worked very hard to achieve. My efforts were rewarded in May 2012 when I received Rowan’s Medallion of Excellence in Elementary Education.
Aside from my passion for educating children, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to read, learn new things, and spend time at the beach. I also love any and all parts of technology!
Thus, my passion for technology led me to return to Rowan University to pursue my Master’s Degree. In December 2019, I earned my Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership with a focus on Technology. I am thrilled to have achieved one of my long-term educational goals. Along with my Master’s Degree, I was also honored to receive the Rowan’s Robin Haskell Medallionfor Excellence in Teacher Leadership.
As your child's teacher, I plan to provide him/her with a quality, fun-filled, and memorable Second Grade learning experience. I also realize the profound impact parent involvement plays on student learning and I firmly believe in forming a strong Parent-Teacher-Child bond. Therefore, I embrace the time, talent, and input that you can offer within our learning community. Together, we will create an educational experience for your child in which they will develop their social, emotional, and academic abilities to their fullest.
I look forward to working with you so we can achieve this goal together!
