Dear Parents,
Welcome to a very exciting school year! I hope you had a wonderful summer. We have some wonderful teachers working with us this year. Some of you are probably already familiar with our procedures but it is always good to review them again to make sure we are all on the same page.
Communication via Class Dojo and Folder: Your child will be coming home with a folder. This folder will be an important line of communication between school and home. It needs to travel between home and school daily. While our main method of communication will be via Class Dojo, we may send important information home in the folder. Please check it daily. I will send reminders, announcements, resources and information mainly via Class Dojo. Please feel free to write as often as you would like with comments, questions or concerns. I will read the posts everyday. I usually try to write a brief summary of how your child did through out the day, however, sometimes time may not allow it. Please be mindful that if I do not respond during school hours it is because my attention is on your children. If you have an emergency or you need to notify me of something that needs immediate attention, please call the main office so I can get the message immediately.
Backpacks: Please have your child bring a backpack to school daily. Please make sure it is big enough to keep papers and work safe. Please remember to check and empty the backpack daily.
Extra Clothing: Please send in a complete set of extra clothing including socks to keep in the classroom in case of emergencies. Also please send with your child two boxes of tissues. Please remember to label all clothing.
Snack: Students will receive breakfast and lunch daily, which is provided by the school. You may also send a snack and a drink for the afternoon. Please send healthy snacks such as pretzels, crackers, goldfish, cereal, fruit, applesauce, etc. Please notify us of any foods your child is not able to eat and if he/she has a food allergy.
Toys: Please do not allow your child to bring toys to school except on special occasions.
Photographs: Our program utilizes pictures of the students and their work as one form of assessment and also as a form to help students with language and behavior. We also use pictures as a form of documentation. Please sign the “Photography Permission Slip” as soon as possible so that we may begin “catching the students in action!”
We are all looking forward to working with you this school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask. If you need to contact me, you may call the main office at (201) 646 8020. Please leave a message with the secretary and I will return your call as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Mrs. McBride,
