Creative Confessionals

Students enter the confessional booth several times a semester and creatively convey their experiences, frustrations, celebrations, goals, and areas of need in this intimate informal course feedback activity. The resulting pieces of feedback are creative and personal, offering a valuable glimpse into the lived experience of your students. This feedback can be used immediately to enhance or evolve the course, and the regular, repetitive act of creativity gives students space to explore other methods of communication and action. The confessional concept can also be used as part of an end-of-semester activity, allowing students to reflect on their entire course experience. A brief assignment description is found below, but for an in-depth exploration of this assignment, including app tutorials, download the Creative Confessionals Student Guide via Apple Books (free) or open source ePub (also free). You'll see student examples below that range from straight selfie mode to highly edited and produced videos. Check them out after the assignment description below.
