The Pennsylvania Governor's Office of General Counsel (OGC) represents 36 executive and independent agencies across the Commonwealth and employs over 500 attorneys and 300 support staff, including paralegals. OGC offers opportunities for qualified candidates in summer and term-time internships.
There are numerous paralegal internships available at OGC for intelligent and motivated individuals. The work is challenging, rewarding and fulfilling. Ideal candidates will have strong academic credentials, an interest in public service, and demonstrated research and writing ability. Maturity, professionalism, and a positive attitude are essential components for success at OGC.
Internships with the OGC agency legal offices are in Harrisburg. Interns will work with their supervising attorney to establish a work schedule.
HACC paralegal studies students interested in applying for an internship with OGC must have their resume and cover letter approved in writing by Career Services before they apply. Student applicants should include in their cover letter or email that they are a HACC paralegal studies student interested in interning, the semester they are anticipating interning, how many days and the hours they anticipate they can work, and any specific agencies where they would like to work. The request seeking to intern with OGC must be submitted no later than three weeks before the end of the semester prior to starting an internship. Student applicants are to send their approved resume and cover letter to ogchiring@pa.gov. Christy Ramos (cdramos@hacc.edu) and Alexandra Makosky, Esq. (amakosky@hacc.edu) must be copied on the email that is sent to OGC requesting an internship.
Students will be contacted by agency attorneys for an interview. Students will be responsible for then providing the supervising attorney contact information to Professor Makosky so that she can confirm the internship details and send the required forms to the supervising attorney.
