Welcome to our newsletter, HACC Yeah®! News
We will continue to share relevant information and keep you “in the know” as we serve and support HACC students.
In this difficult time, we want to share with you the ways HACC and the HACC Foundation are doing our part during the global coronavirus pandemic. Please visit hacc.edu/Coronavirus for more information.
For the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters, HACC will be in phase four of the five-phased approach (pdf) to reopening our campuses.
Please note the following:
The College is open.
The outdoor spaces at all five campuses are open to the general public.
The public can park on our campuses and walk the campus grounds.
While on campus, all students, employees and visitors – even if they are fully vaccinated – will be required to wear face coverings. The College’s official guidance on mask expectations can be found here.
HACC’s buildings will remain closed to the general public.
HACC’s buildings are open only to authorized employees and all students who are (a) taking on-campus classes, (b) attending appointments on campus or (c) seeking on-campus services during scheduled on-campus office hours.
HACC does not require students or employees to be vaccinated at this time. Clinical sites are requiring vaccinations. Please visit hacc.edu/HealthCareersUpdate for more information.
Please contact foundation@hacc.edu if you have any questions or need additional information.
Thank you!
Helpful and knowledgeable professionals at HACC make it easier for students to adjust to college. Jason, a student in the Computer Networking Technology Program, said, “It was scary taking on college at my age, and in fields that I had no experience in. As soon as I spoke with my advisor and my professor, I knew they were the perfect fit for what I've been looking for.”
To hear more about Jason’s experiences, please watch this video.
Did you know? In 2020-21, HACC had more than 200 international students from 52 countries. HACC yeah!
International Students’ Day, celebrated on Nov. 17 across the world, focused on ensuring education is available for all.
We’re #HACCproud to have students from around the world attend and reach their dreams at HACC, including:
Bachir, who only knew a little English when he arrived
Bangyan, who made friends through the international awareness club
Joseph, who never regrets being at HACC
The Global Education Fund for Excellence helps international students by supporting innovative ideas to make their adjustment easier. To learn more, please visit hacc.edu/HACCFoundation/Donate/FundsforExcellence/global-education-fund-for-excellence.cfm.
The 2020-21 HACC and HACC Foundation annual report is now available online. This year’s report focuses on Overcoming Barriers #HACCtogether!
For 2020-21, did you know?
HACC’s Technology Loan Program helped more than 450 students who otherwise may not have been able to complete their studies and attend classes remotely.
Nursing students and faculty volunteered to administer COVID-19 vaccinations at local clinics.
HACC remains committed to ensuring our diverse student and employee populations feel valued at HACC – no matter their ages, ancestries, colors, disabilities, gender identities, marital statuses, national origins, places of birth, political affiliations or beliefs, races, religions, sexual orientations and veteran statuses.
Please read more in our annual report.
Thank you for choosing HACC!
Many HACC students are juggling work, classes and their families. Charitable gifts from our generous donors to HACC’s Funds for Excellence can make the difference between students dropping out or completing their education to make a better life. Please consider giving a gift – of any size - which could mean the world to a student, like Ricardo.
Please consider some of the following ways to help HACC students, like Ricardo:
Set a monthly recurring donation so you can feel the joy of helping a HACC student each month!
Mark your calendar to make a donation on Nov. 30 to be part of the worldwide #GivingTuesday movement.
Make a pledge to give a gift by breaking it into weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual contributions
Give a gift in honor or in memory of a loved one
P.S. – Did you know that donating to the HACC Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) public charity, could have significant benefits for you? Please see the many ways to give to learn more!
Thank you!
Our graduating students work hard – inside and outside of the classroom. They battled the global pandemic on the frontlines, raised children, supported families, and worked full-time jobs – all while working to obtain their HACC degree, certificate or diploma.
Let’s celebrate them and their remarkable achievements!
