Did you know of these LGBT people and places of note in Pennsylvania?

As of 2022, 46.2 million immigrants live in the United States. That's 13.9% of the population! Pennsylvania is home to nearly 900,000 foreign-born individuals, or about 7% of Pennsylvania's total population.

Pennsylvania has always been shaped by immigration! Did you know that in 1866, Steelton consisted of only 8 families? However, by the 1880s, due to the the expansion of the Pennsylvania Steel Company, thousands of steelworkers immigrated to Steelton from the not only the southern United States and rural Pennsylvania, but southern Europe and places like Ireland, Great Britain, and Germany as well! (You can find out more about this in John Bodnar's book, Steelton: Immigration and Industrialization, 1870–1940.)
