HACC provides printing services to current students for class materials. There are a few ways to print to fit YOUR needs.
Learning Commons & Library Printers
When the student is ready to send their print job to the printer they will use their MyHACC login credentials (Hawkmail prefix and password) to log in at their workstation, then they will log in with the same credentials at the print release station.
Reminder: Learning Commons & Library spaces will be closed Jan. 1-5.
Campus Printing Hubs
Printing Hubs are located on most campuses so that students can print after Learning Commons hours. For a full listing of campus print hubs, please check our Printing page.
Printing with the HACC Print Shop
For large print jobs (50+ pages) or printing your OER textbook, students can submit documents to the print shop to be picked up at their campus bookstore. You will need a PDF of the OER, you should be able to find this in your Brightspace course, or by contacting your instructor directly. Most requests are ready in 2 business days. Please submit documents to this form.
Did you know that HACC has an agreement with 22 school districts to provide discounted tuition to students living within their district? These school districts have agreed to pay a portion of your tuition if you have lived in their school district for at least a year- even if you did not attend high school in that area. All you have to do to receive the discounted tuition rate is to work with the school district to prove your residency by submitting a valid Certificate of Residence. Please note, that students who are already paying reduced Dual Enrollment (DE) and/or College in the High School (CHS) rates are not eligible. To learn more:
Click here to find out whether or not your school is a participating school district.
If your school district is listed, follow the instructions to complete and submit the Certificate of Residence application or call the phone number listed under your school district to get instructions from your district's representative.
Confirm that the credit has been applied to your bill. There will be a waiting period to allow for processing between submitting your application and HACC receiving it. Once your application is processed, the credit will appear on your bill. Questions can be directed to the One Stop Welcome Center.
Renew your Certificate of Residence annually after July 1 for the following fall, winter, spring and summer.
Do you enjoy writing poetry, short works of prose (fiction or nonfiction), and/or reviews of movies, music, etc.? Do you have a talent for taking photographs and/or for creating works of art? If so, please consider submitting your work to HACC’s online literary magazine, The Copper Quill, for possible publication in an upcoming issue! Feel free to reach out to us with questions at haccliteraryjournal@gmail.com and to submit your work via the following weblink.
Do you remember your first semester at HACC? Were you nervous or overwhelmed? Do you want to help students turn their nerves into excitement and energy? Are you excited to share your story and what you have learned? Would you like to do all of this and develop your leadership skills, make new friends, and get involved with the HACC community?
Learn why HAWKGuide and recent HACC graduate McKenzie Hall loved working with the NSO team:
“Being a student worker for the New Student Orientation team has helped me build interpersonal skills and leadership qualities. The greatest gift I received from the NSO team was their amazing support and encouragement throughout my educational journey. The flexibility of the job made it easy to find the balance between work life and school life. It was a pleasure meeting and working with Nakia, Ayelet, and Jenny as well as the other departments here at HACC, and the students that I had the opportunity to mentor.”

All your online activity generates a trail of data. Websites, apps, and services collect data on your behaviors, interests and purchases. It can even include data about your physical self, like health data – think about how a smartwatch counts and records how many steps you take.
Data Privacy Week was created by the National Cybersecurity Alliance as an annual campaign to spread awareness about data privacy and educate individuals on how to secure their personal information. HACC is recognized as a Data Privacy Week Champion.
Here are some simple, easy tips that will help you manage your data privacy:
Know the trade-off between Privacy and Convenience
When you download a new app, open a new online account, or join a new social media platform, you will often be asked for access to your personal information before you can even use it! This data might include your geographic location, contacts and photos.
For businesses, this personal information about you is extremely valuable; you should decide if the service you get in return is worth the data you must hand over, especially if the service is free.
Use these tips to make informed decisions about sharing your data:
Is the service, app, or game worth the amount or type of personal data they want in return?
Can you control your data privacy and still use the service?
Is the data requested even relevant for the app or service (that is, "Why does a Solitaire game need to know all my contacts")?
If you haven't used an app, service or account in several months, is it worth keeping around knowing that it might be collecting and sharing your data?
2. Adjust Settings to Your Comfort Level
For every app, account or device, check the privacy and security settings. Set them to your comfort level for personal information sharing; generally, lean on the side of sharing less data, not more.
Visit the National Cybersecurity Alliance website to find direct links for popular devices and online services.
3. Protect Your Data
Along with managing your data privacy settings, follow some simple cybersecurity tips to keep it safe. Here are four core tips:
Create long (at least 12 characters), unique passwords for each account and device. Use a password manager to store each password – maintaining dozens of passwords securely is now easier than ever.
Turn on multi-factor authentication (MFA) wherever it is permitted – this keeps your data safe even if your password is compromised.
Turn on automatic device, software and browser updates, or make sure you install updates as soon as they are available.
Learn how to identify phishing messages, which can be sent as emails, texts or direct messages.
Remember, your data is precious, and you have a right to be selective
about who you share it with!
HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, will display the work of interdisciplinary Artist and educator Kourtney Stone in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery Jan. 16 – Feb. 9, 2024.
The public is invited to a free lecture by the artist, Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. A reception will follow the lecture at the gallery.
Originally from Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Kourtney attended Maryland Institute College of Art, earning her B.F.A. in Ceramics and M.A. in Teaching. She stayed in the Baltimore area, working as a high school art teacher and grade dean and exhibiting her artwork. She also served as a board member of the Clay Connection. Kourtney studied at Georgia State University, completing her M.F.A. in Studio Art, specializing in ceramics in 2021. After this, she served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Indiana University in Bloomington. Kourtney has presented at the Mid-Atlantic Clay Conference, NCECA and the Figurative Association Symposium. She taught National workshops at the Appalachian Center for Craft and Arrowmont. Kourtney has been a resident artist at Baltimore Clayworks, Arrowmont’s Pentaculum and Watershed. She is currently working as an assistant professor at Harrisburg Area Community College.
Kourtney Stone’s ideas are primarily informed by research and her own family history. She stated, “Our identities are rooted in our experiences and what we tell ourselves about those experiences.” Through the composition of multiple sculptural elements and juxtaposition of different materials, she contemplates our constructions of the past and present: family mythologies, autobiographical narratives, and her impressions of current relationships.
Her artist statement says, “Memory is a powerful, yet paradoxical, thing. Fragmented and mutable, its pliability causes us to question the truthfulness of personal narratives and family mythologies.” Kourtney’s assemblage sculptures are meditations on the nature of memory and how we construct stories about our lived experiences. By intertwining found and sculpted objects, she invites viewers to indulge in the human tendency to seek relationships between disparate elements. Each viewer’s mind builds imaginary relationships among the objects, which mirrors the plurality of truths embedded within a single memory.
