Welcome to our newsletter, HACC Yeah®! News
We will continue to share relevant information and keep you “in the know” as we serve and support HACC students.
In this difficult time, we want to share with you the ways HACC and the HACC Foundation are doing our part during the global coronavirus pandemic. Please visit hacc.edu/Coronavirus for more information.
Please contact foundation@hacc.edu if you have any questions or need additional information.
Thank you!
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Michael and his family moved to the United States. He started working as a housekeeper and began earning a steady income to support his family. He then got his driver’s license and started a second job at a truck company. Unfortunately, he suffered a serious accident on the job that prevented him from working again until February 2022.
Please visit our website to read how Michael persevered through his recovery and became a HACC student.
TE Connectivity provided $46,000 to fund a Tool and Die Apprenticeship Program. The funding continues to support the first cohort of the apprenticeship as well as the second cohort, which launched in 2020. All costs for the program, including books and fees, were paid for by the donor via the HACC Foundation.
The COVID-19 pandemic did not stop the progress of the program. The leaders incorporated virtual learning to keep the apprentices on schedule. HACC, TE Connectivity and students showed great dedication to the program, which has allowed it to continue to be successful. The first cohort is on target to graduate at the end of 2023.
Thank you to our devoted community of supporters who helped HACC students throughout the year and on the giving days in November.
HACC students, like the graduates below, are able to complete their education, thanks to generous HACC donors.
A special thanks to Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects and Murray Associates Architects, PC for supporting HACC students as proud sponsors for #GivingTuesday. Together, we are making a brighter future for our community. Thank you!

Two- and three-dimensional paintings by Claes Gabriel will be on display Jan. 17-Feb. 10, 2023, in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery.
Two- and three-dimensional paintings that ring with the spiritual energy of beings from folklore and imagined tales by internationally known artist Claes Gabriel will be on display Jan. 17-Feb. 10, 2023, in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery on the Harrisburg Campus.
Gabriel will give a free lecture Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. in Room 214 of Whitaker Hall with a reception to follow in the art gallery.
Inspired by modernists such as Frank Stella and Sam Gilliam, Gabriel’s three-dimensional works live beyond the confines of a flat wall; he stretches and sews canvases taut over wooden armatures to construct masks and free-standing statues.
