HACC is partnering with Groom Curriculum to launch a Professional Dog Grooming Program. This hybrid course will prepare students for the American Kennel Club Professional Groomer Credential.

The HACC Foundation has received two six-figure gifts to support our students.
The first gift is from the Arconic Foundation to support the Accelerating Workforce Entry in Manufacturing, Construction Technology and Unmanned Aviation project. This project will establish three industry-aligned workforce pathways.
Pathway 1: Focuses on civil construction technology via a nine-month certificate program that features industry-aligned entry-level skills and competencies to support large and small infrastructure projects.
Pathway 2: Features manufacturing training opportunities in areas such as machining (NIMS), production technician (MSSC) and introductory CNC and automation.
Pathway 3: Focuses on unmanned aviation systems (UAS), which have a multitude of applications in multiple fields.
The second gift from Glatfelter Insurance Group will support students enrolled in HACC's Fire Academy and EMS programs. This generous investment will help purchase essential equipment and technology that keeps pace with evolving industry standards, best practices, and training requirements. By ensuring students have access to current resources, these funds will help prepare graduates to enter the workforce or serve in volunteer emergency response roles with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed.
HACC Foundation donors funded an applications server upgrade that improved the security and reliability of key technology systems supporting HACC’s academic programs and marketing operations. The project upgraded and migrated the EPrograms and Communications Hub databases to a newer, more secure server environment.
EPrograms supports the information displayed on HACC’s official academic webpages, including program guides and transfer checksheets, allowing students to easily access important information about their academic pathways. The upgraded system also provides HACC employees with a streamlined administrative interface to efficiently maintain and update program information.
The Communications Hub supports internal marketing requests by guiding employees through the submission process and ensuring required information is provided. This project successfully modernized critical technology infrastructure, helping HACC maintain secure, efficient systems that support both student resources and college operations.
HACC Foundation donors provided funding for an AI tutoring pilot that expanded access to academic support for students through Tutor.com’s Learner Engagements Online (LEO) platform. The pilot introduced students to a new resource that provided 24/7 access to AI-powered tutoring assistance, writing feedback and academic guidance while complementing HACC’s existing tutoring services.
The AI Tutor allowed students to ask questions, receive explanations, work through problems and get immediate feedback outside of traditional tutoring hours. Through the pilot, HACC Tutoring evaluated how students engaged with AI-powered academic support and explored how emerging technology could enhance, rather than replace, the personalized support provided by live tutors.
Student feedback showed that while students valued the convenience and accessibility of AI tutoring, they continued to recognize the importance of human connection and personalized guidance from live tutors. The pilot provided valuable insight into student needs and reinforced HACC’s commitment to combining innovative tools with the supportive learning experiences that help students succeed.
