Now Accepting Bids – Steel Door Replacement Project - 2026-RFP-DR-003
The Housing Authority of Bowling Green (HABG) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for the replacement of exterior steel doors and frames across multiple residential units.
This project includes approximately 172 units (344 total door openings), with each unit receiving a new front and rear steel door assembly. Work consists of removal of existing doors and masonry-set frames, installation of new 18-gauge insulated steel doors and anchored frames, weatherproofing, painting, and reinstallation of existing screen doors.
Due to varying building conditions, some units will require jamb extensions and interior trim, while others will be installed directly into masonry openings. All installations must be properly sealed, insulated, and finished to ensure durability and energy efficiency.
The Housing Authority reserves the right to phase the project based on funding and operational needs.

Question 1: Bidder stated that availability of 18 ga. 6 panel door design may be unavailable for smaller rear doors and asked if smooth panel was acceptable?
Answer 1: Our Preference is 18 gauge 6 panel doors for all units. If these are unavailable, please offer your best substitute and note it in the bid response.
