Celeste Barcia
Celeste Barcia
Celeste is a passionate educator with a deep commitment to fostering a love of learning in her students. With over a decade of experience in education, including years spent homeschooling her own children on the Big Island, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to the classroom. Celeste earned her teaching degree from UH Hilo and furthered her expertise with a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. She believes in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where children can thrive emotionally, intellectually, and socially. She is community minded, values collaboration and enjoys partnering with parents to create rich and meaningful learning experiences for each student. She and her family are long time Hawai'i Island residents. She's been a teacher at HAAS Seaview Community School since 2017. When not in the classroom, she travels the world. Celeste also enjoys reading, gardening, spending time with her family, and exploring the beauty of Hawai'i Island through hiking, swimming, and horseback riding.
Sarah Bradley-Newman
Sarah Bradley-Newman
Sarah holds a bachelor's degree in Science and a Masters of Arts in Elementary Teaching. She believes that students learn best in environments that are student-centered, developmentally responsive, and academically challenging. She is committed to fostering a school community in which all students have a sense of belonging. Sarah is passionate about inspiring children to love their learning process. She deeply values creating a collaborative partnership with parents and students. This is Sarah’s 6th year teaching at HAAS Seaview community School. She is thrilled to spend her days teaching at SPACE. When she is not in the classroom you might find her adventuring with her 10 year old son or swimming in the deep sea!
Mika Kiburz is a teacher who oversees K-3 students and curriculum. She also teaches Science, and Fun with Film- Photography and Video. An avid student of life, Mika began teaching through circus arts as a juggler/ acrobat/ clown/ musician. She has participated in numerous juggling festivals, busked in many cities, and performed for school groups worldwide. Prior to running away with the circus, she graduated from The University of Iowa with a B.A. in Cinema. She has worked as a documentary filmmaker for over a decade. Additionally, Mika worked at Pacific Quest, a residential horticulture therapy program, serving teenagers, as a Rites of Passage experience. Mika is overjoyed to be a part of the education team at Seaview, offering her experience and passion for cultivating curiosity as tools for success.

Cassie Westnedge joined the Seaview team in 2024 as a Teaching Assistant. Over a 9 year span, Cassie has worn many hats in school settings both in Alaska and here in Hawaii. Cassie has two children of her own, and loves the opportunity to work with other young people. Getting to know the minds and hearts of the children at Seaview School is a great privilege, and Cassie is excited to be a part of their learning journey. When she’s not at SPACE, you are likely to catch Cassie at the beach with her family, camping around the island, or creating something crafty with her hands.

Leonardo Yaw is an experienced educator who loves bringing out the best in every student. Over the past 10 years he has worked with children of all ages and backgrounds in various school settings. Leonardo finds joy in nurturing students' creativity through music, art, and social-emotional learning. His experience spans from energetic preschool classrooms to middle and high school environments. No matter the age , Leonardo strives to create an enthusiastic atmosphere of life-long learning, where every child feels motivated to discover their talents. He looks forward to continuing to make a positive impact on students' lives for years to come.
