About Gan Yuan Elementary School

Gan Yuan Elementary School is located in the Shulin District, New Taipei, Taiwan. It's located close to the Dahan River, an important river in northern Taiwan. Shulin District is a region historically known for its Mandarin Gardens, which have flourished for generations. As the school celebrates its 110th year, it continues to evolve, welcoming a new century of learning and growth. The school proudly carries forward the essence of culture, making strides toward a promising future while honoring its remarkable history. 

Ganyuan Elementary School was established in 1911. It has a storied history dating back to the time before the Republic of China. This century-old institution stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of education in the region. One of the school's remarkable features is the Yuying Hall, a well-preserved Japanese-style building. Our school has 26 elementary-level classes, and we're home to nearly 650 students and about 60 teachers and staff members.

We believe in giving our students a well-rounded education. That means we offer a wide range of classes in sports, arts, and literature, allowing kids to explore their interests and develop their talents. We're proud of our students who have won awards in various fields. They've shown dedication and hard work can lead to success.

We're also known for our achievements in sports, especially archery. We've trained some students who've won many trophies in archery competitions. It's a testament to our commitment to excellence. One of the most popular clubs at our school is the drum corps. Students here don't just enjoy making music; they're also recognized for their outstanding performances, making their parents and the community proud.

At the heart of our school's curriculum are two main focuses: literature and sports. We believe in teaching students to learn on their own and emphasizing not just their minds but also their physical and mental well-being.
