You are the seniors of David L. Rainer Elementary School and this is your last stop before middle school! Mrs. David and I have a very busy year planned for you. I will be leading your studies of reading, writing, and the history of our country. Mrs. David will be leading your math and science explorations.
Here are some hints for success from former students:
"Do your homework and get your agenda signed everyday."
"Read, read and read some more!"
"Be ready to write!"
"Always tell the truth - even when you think you are in trouble."
Be sure and check out the letters last year's 5th graders wrote for you. They are hanging on the board in my classroom.
Mrs. David and I want you to have the best year of school ever!
-Mrs. Douylliez
I will come to school everyday to learn and do my best. I know that I can be anyone that I want to be and learning is the key to my future. I will be honest in all that I do. I will be responsible and respectful in my home, school, and community.
We are happy to announce our new 5th grade teacher is here! Ms. Emily Trower has joined our DLR family. We are excited to welcome her to 5th Grade.
Cold/Flu season has arrived at DLR. We’ve had lots of coughing going around. Please be reminded parents, that cough drop and/or cough medications MUST be sent to the nurse to safely store at school. They can NOT be kept in backpacks or classroom desk. Also, cough drops will only be eaten in the nurse's office. Not only are they a choking hazards (especially with our little ones), but they can also cause a disruption with other students in the class. Please check the "Do/DO Not" list for a reminder of when to send your child to school. We will be sending a paper reminder home. We are disinfecting the classrooms on a regular basis and practicing good hand washing! Parents, if you have any questions or concerns please contact our school nurse. Thank you for working alongside us on this issue!
Nurse Nicole's email is: nbone@camden.k12.ga.us
Every day the students will bring home their Agenda. Parents, please keep up with all their learning by spending a few moments to ask about what they learned. Please initial their Agenda each day. They are becoming more independent students but they still need parent support. Thank you!
Please consider collecting and contributing your box tops! It is extremely helpful if you could take the time to neatly cut the box top, check to make sure the coupon is still in date, and place coupons in a baggie marked with the total number of coupons.
The class in our hallway with the most box tops turned in will receive extra "bounce time" during field day.
Each month, your child will bring home Reading Club flyers. Buying books from the flyers helps provide our classroom with free books!
