Will teachers in a tested subject have less time to cover needed materials? It appears the proposed calendar will only provide 4-6 minutes of additional instructional time.

Will the Modified Instructional Calendar change the way I plan as a teacher?
Yes, teachers will see a change in planning units of study and daily lessons as they review the year at a glance (YAG). Our society is continuing to ask less of people and promote apathy. This move only reinforces these things and pushes us further down a slippery slope. What's next? When will we stop? We cannot continue to lower standards and expect to not have negative consequences.

Instructional minute requirements have not been relaxed; in fact, instructional minutes would actually increase with the proposed calendar. Learning and enrichment activities will still be available on Fridays though the ACE Program.
