The Dream Big, Spend Wise: Family Workshop on Making and Managing Money took place on May 23, 2024, in Charlotte, NC. This engaging evening event brought families together for tailored sessions, with youth learning entrepreneurial skills through the Passion to Profit session, while parents gained practical financial management tools in - All About the Dough. Participants received $25 gift cards for attending, and the evening included valuable insights from Generational Wealth Educators, Amerihealth, and sponsors Our Daily Bread Foundation and Ally. The event successfully fostered family discussions on business and budgeting, encouraging financial literacy across generations.
On February 23, 2023, Generational Wealth Educators and MeckEd hosted the Harding University High School Youth Entrepreneurship Fair in Charlotte, NC. Featuring seven youth vendors, 16 organizations, and over 100 students, the event celebrated innovation, Black business excellence, and career exploration. A highlight was awarding Ximena Rodriguez a $500 grant to support her entrepreneurial journey.
The Inaugural Youth Entrepreneurship Event was held on February 11, 2023, with 14 vendors and a total of 185 tickets sold, including 30 in-person attendees. The event, which had a budget of approximately $8,000, featured a keynote address by Andrea Williams and awarded a $1,000 grant to Jaidyn Scott. Through strategic marketing, including radio interviews and Facebook Boost Ads, the event generated net profits of $399.72. It was a vibrant gathering that supported youth entrepreneurship and fostered community engagement.
GWE Stadium Events at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte are a key part of our mission to support the community. By operating concession stands during major events like Carolina Panthers games, soccer matches, and concerts, we raise funds to reinvest in programs that directly benefit those in need.
The _preneur Collective Event Grant supports entrepreneurs in the Charlotte Metro area and provided financial assistance to help grow their businesses. The grant offers $250 for youth and $750 for adults. At the event, GWE worked with 120 participants. Vendors marketed their products or services, and attendees voted for their favorites.
