Mechatronics Technician Apprenticeship program. This is not a High School program, but is available for students who have graduated. ALPLA Manufacturing will be taking on 12 apprentices this summer to earn while they learn! Interested students can already apply here, and we are happy to share more information about the program and the next steps.

Upcoming Teacher Events
Authentic Project-Based Design Session: Participants will begin this session by reviewing the key components of authentic project-based learning, then have dedicated time to update an existing lesson, unit or project to increase the authenticity and relevance for students.
AI For Educators: Join the Digital Learning Team and jump into the world of AI! All levels are welcome, and topics include an introduction to AI in education, exploration of AI tools for personalized instruction, data-driven decision-making, creating intelligent learning environments, building AI literacy in students, and addressing associated challenges.
DCAP Workshops: Three different sessions for DCAP Teams to analyze and update DCAPs to address areas of focus for 24-25. These are available at GWAEA on the identified dates, but districts can request onsite options if needed.
Level 1 June 12 & 13 - BAC3 Training Center, Marshalltown
Level 2 June 19 & 20 - BAC3 Training Center, Marshalltown
(Must have attended a prior Level 1 to attend. This is a newly registered course that all teachers, even if you have taken a Level 2 course before, can register for!)
State leaders will travel to SkillsUSA Iowa’s local chapters for the inaugural tour of local chapters to learn directly from members and advisors. Chapters will hear a short presentation on SkillsUSA and learn all the necessary elements to have a successful chapter through the National Program of Work, Chapter Excellence Program, SkillsUSA Framework, and Career Essentials.
All tours will last approximately one- to one and a half hours. SkillsUSA Iowa will provide snacks to all participants. Chapters are encouraged to schedule all members and advisors to be present for the tour.
