Dr. Pradeesh K. is working as Assistant Professor at Govt. Victoria College Palakkad since 2013. He received his PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2010. He worked on fabrication and photonic applications of organic-inorganic hybrid materials during his Ph.D. He worked as post-doctoral research fellow at University of Southampton, UK during the period 2010 to 2013. His post-doctoral research work was on fabrication of planar glass waveguides for pulsed lasers. He is a recipient of UGC-Raman Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship 2016 sponsored by UGC and as part of the fellowship he worked at Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA during 2016-2017. His work at Rutgers University was on glass sealants for high temperature batteries.

Research Interests: Photonics, Nanophotonics, Energy materials

Teaching Interests: Mechanics, Classical Mechanics, Physical and Modern Optics, Computational Physics

Research Experience:

  • Presently a research guide recognized by University of Calicut, Kerala, India.

(PhD degree awarded -1 scholar, Guiding PhD - 3 scholars, Co-guiding Ph.D. - 2 scholars.


  • Worked at Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, U.S.A (July 2016 – July 2017). Under UGC-Raman Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2016.


  • Worked as post-doctoral research fellow at Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, Southampton, UK (Sep-2010 – July 2013)


  • Ph.D. (July 2006 – March 2010) Thesis entitled “Fabrication and photonic applications of low dimensional inorganic-organic hybrid semiconductors” in Nanophotonics Lab, Dept. of Physics, IIT Delhi, India.


  • Worked at School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Southampton, UK and Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge, UK, during the periods 12/05/08-10/07/08 (2 months) and 24/05/10- 23/07/2010 (2 months) under the collaborative project UK-India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI).

  • Scored 10th Rank in All India Examination, Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering 2006 (GATE 2006)
