I was born in Illinois, but moved to San Diego when I was 10 years old. I earned a Bachelor's degree from San Diego State University (go Aztecs!) and a Master's degree from Cal State University Los Angeles.
This year is my 22nd year teaching! This is the best profession ever, and I'm so thankful I get to do what I love every day.
This is my 19th year with the Glendale Unified School District, and my 4th year at Balboa. When I started with Glendale USD, I taught at Monte Vista Elementary in La Crescenta. While at Monte Vista, I taught 4th, 6th, 2nd, and 3rd grades. I received Teacher of the Year and the Masonic Award.
My favorite part about teaching is being given the privilege to educate, shape, and mold the future. Every child that walks (or runs) through my classroom door becomes "mine". I will make sure my classroom is a safe, nurturing, and exciting environment for your child, whether it is in a brick and mortar building or remotely.
I have been married for 7 years to the love of my life. We recently purchased a townhouse! We love taking walks around our new neighborhood, vacationing on islands, and going out to dinner. I love reading and being at the beach. We have one fur baby, Bella.
This new school year is going to be an interesting one. It may be a little different, but the goal is still the same: have a fun year and learn a ton! As the great Senator John Lewis said, "Be hopeful. Be optimistic. Never lose that sense of hope."
