Plan for Professional Growth: Each employee is responsible for two PPG goals (Both Part 1 & Part 2)
One selected by the employee
One based on department or grade-level team goal
Note: Goals should align with academic standards, curriculum, and course content, while reflecting the schoolwide instructional focus. Employee meets with administrator to submit, discuss, and agree on PPG.
Formal Observations: At least two formal observations by the administrator with post-observation conferences.
Summary Evaluation: Administrator presents summary evaluation.
Cycle: Yearly (non-permanent) or every other year (permanent).
Who May Participate: This option is open to Permanent employees with 5 years of GUSD service, satisfactory evaluations ('Meets Standards') for the past 5 years, and administrative approval. Consent is discretionary; reasons for denial or withdrawal shall not be arbitrary or capricious.
(Employees should be in their sixth year or greater.)
Training & Support: An asynchronous training will be provided for teachers who are interested and eligible to participate in the Portfolio option for their evaluation. These sessions are designed to provide an overview of what is required for each option and some tools and strategies to help them proceed. Be sure to inform your site administrator if you are interested in the Portfolio option.

Conference with the site administrator to present progress, collaboration efforts, and observation outcomes before the Summary Evaluation.
Summary Evaluation: Administrator presents summary evaluation.
Cycle: Every third year.
Who May Participate: Permanent employees with 10 active completed years of GUSD service (excluding leaves of one-semester or longer), previous 'Meets Standards' rating. By joint discretionary consent. Employees would follow the Administrative Option and must request the Five-Year Option. (Employees should be in their 11th year or greater.)
