Early Years Policy

Our Early Years Policy has been developed to communicate the intent and implementation of the Early Years Curriculum at Gurnard Primary School. We have used current guidance from the updated statutory guidance in 2020, to ensure that each child has a happy, safe and positive start to school. Communication with parents in vital in helping children develop and crucial for children who may need more support. Our curriculum has been designed using the guidance from Development Matters, the demographic of our school and local area, the needs and interests of individual cohorts, to enable pupils to thrive and develop in our Early Years setting, and prepare them for Year One.
