We’ll continue looking at Google Slides this week.
1. Transitions can be created for the objects on each slide. There is a little box on the toolbar for transitions. Transitions are between slides. There are many options. Also, on this toolbar are animations. Click on any item in your slide to animate that item. There are many animations to choose and you can also choose how they come in (on click, etc.) and what speed.
2. On the SLIDE tab on the toolbar, you can duplicate or delete slides, change the theme, change the transition, background, or layout. You can also access these tools by right clicking on a slide.
3. Moving slides and changing their order is easy! Just click and drag the slide on the slide viewer on the left of your screen and put them in whatever order you need!
4. Just as you can do in DOCS, you can make copies of your entire presentation. This would be helpful if you want to tailor a presentation to a specific class. Just make a copy and make the changes for that class on the copy. Don’t forget to rename your presentation so you know which class it’s for!
5. Sharing – don’t forget if you make a copy of a presentation, the sharing that you have on the original doesn’t transfer. You’ll need to share the copy with co-editors. Or, you can leave the copy with no sharing so your co-workers don’t mess up the original!
6. You can import slides from other presentations you have created. Just click on FILE – IMPORT SLIDES. You’ll be prompted to choose what presentations and where they are stored. You can get the slides from your computer or your drive.
7. Easily find older versions of your presentation. Your history is always stored. Click on the ‘All Changes Saved in Drive’ to easily get to your revision history.
8. Download your presentation in different formats! You can download as a PowerPoint, PDF, JPG, or many other options. This way, if you need the presentation, but don’t have Internet access, you can still show your presentation!
9. Going to FILE – PUBLISH TO THE WEB is a great feature. You can get a link, or an embed code to embed the presentation into a website!
10. FILE – EMAIL AS AN ATTACHMENT is a super way for others to get your presentation!
