Happy November!
For a few weeks, we’ll be taking a look at the Google Slides app. Google Slides is similar to PowerPoint, but has some very neat features! Here is Part 1!
1. In your Drive – click on NEW – SLIDES to create a new presentation.
2. Changing the title is just like DOCS. Click on the title and change.
3. Features are similar to PowerPoint and are found on the toolbar at the top of the slides.
4. To choose an image as your background, you can do this right in Slides. Click on Background, choose image, either in your drive, on your computer, your albums, or so a search!
5. To upload a PowerPoint you’ve already created, go to NEW – FILE UPLOAD and you can find it from your computer. It will then be stored in your DRIVE. You can convert it to SLIDES when opening the PowerPoint if you wish. You don’t need to. You can leave it in that format. However, you can’t edit this presentation in your DRIVE. If you do open the presentation in SLIDES, you’ll have both presentations in your DRIVE.
6. Feel free to share your SLIDES presentation. Students can do a joint presentation and they can both (or more) edit the presentation.
7. Add new slides using the + sign on the top left. If you use the arrow next to the +, you can choose your layout before putting it in the presentation.
8. Add text boxes, shapes, images, charts, links, tables, word art and more! Adding sounds is not currently supported, but there are work arounds to do this.
And here is the VIDEO!!
