Good Morning!
What can I say? Google Forms is such a wonderful tool!!!
There are so many ways to use Google Forms, I can’t list them all. However, I would like to give you a FEW ideas.
Create a form
Other items to be aware of with forms:
There are many uses for forms, and once the data is in, you have access to the data in a couple of different ways. Google creates a presentation of your data, but you also have access to the data in a Google sheet. We’ve even created a form for students to fill out where they keep a running record of their reading. When the student chooses his/her name, the data is put in a separate tab that only has that student’s data in it. This takes a little coding to do, but it is possible. Also, there are add ons for all sorts of ways to use the data in a spreadsheet. I’ll have to talk about some of these in a later email.
To create a form:
5. Once you’ve put in your question and choices (if that type of question, you can choose to make the question a required question that must be answered.
6. On the bottom, you also have choices to duplicate the question or delete the question.
7. If you click on the 3 dots at the bottom, you’ll have the choice to show description, go to section based on answer, and shuffle the order of the multiple choice answers. The Go To Section based on answer is best completed after finishing your form!
8. The menu allows you to insert different items into your form. The last choice, which looks like an = sign is how you create sections so you can have people go to a specific section based on the answer they give.
9. Lastly, there is a tool bar at the top right. You can choose your color or insert an image for the form, view the form as someone filling it out would see, settings for the form and you’ll want to visit this before sending out your form, and the SEND button where you get the link to your form. The 3 dots here at the top also give you more options! Check them out!
Forms are highly useful tools in the classroom and as a teacher! Give them a try!
To see your data, after people have started filling out the form, you can click on RESPONSES and see your data. There is also a little green icon and this is how you’d open the data in a Google Sheet!
