Welcome to week 2 of Tech Tuesdays relating to Google!
This week, I’m focusing on using the bookmarks bar in Chrome! This is an EASY way to organize all those forms you need on a regular basis. You won’t have to search through your email to find them!
This trick works for all websites as well. You can watch a video HERE. Or written directions below.
Upon opening Chrome, if you don’t see a gray bar with bookmarks, go to the 3 horizontal bars on the top right - just under the X to X out of Chrome. This is settings. Click and scroll down to BOOKMARKS - SHOW BOOKMARKS BAR. Now your bookmarks should be showing.
Next, open any form, website, doc, or anything on the Internet. In the left edge of that URL bar, there is either an icon or a lock. Drag that lock to the bookmark bar. Now your bookmark is there.
You can edit that bookmark by right-clicking on the bookmark and going to edit in the drop-down menu. Change the name, or even delete the name if you can recognize the icon!
If you right click on the bar, the drop down includes ADD FOLDER. Add a folder, name it whatever you’d like and then drag the bookmarks you want to place in that folder from the bar into the folder.
I’d only do this on your teacher computer and laptop. If you have students do this, make sure they create a folder on the bar with their name and when they finish the project, they can delete the bookmarks. Also, if the computers are using Deepfreeze, the bookmarks won’t save if the computer is shut down.
Watch the video and see all the details of how it’s done! You can open any form from Outlook or Gmail and this will work. Here is the link to the video again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIKF2EuT2UU

As always, let me know if you have questions. I would be more than happy to help!
Next week: Some of my favorite extensions for students and teachers!
